Social Worker - Children's Social Work Team (CSWT) - Kent County Council - Kings Hill - Up to £38/hr Umbrella - Hybrid

Job Summary:

Kent County Council is looking for experienced and passionate Children's Social Workers to join the Children's Social Work Team (CSWT) in Kings Hill. The role focuses on supporting children and families with complex needs, ensuring child protection, and promoting positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Carry out statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 including Section 17 and Section 47

  • Hold a complex caseload involving Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) and Looked After Children (LAC)

  • Develop and implement care and safety plans

  • Work in partnership with families, schools, police, and health professionals

  • Prepare clear evidence-based reports for court proceedings and attend court when necessary

  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, and child protection conferences

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

  • Minimum of 2-3 years post-qualifying experience in frontline children's social work

  • Sound knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory guidance

  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced safeguarding environment
