Job description

Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for Adult Care Assistants across the West Midlands in Sandwell and Birmingham.

The service is generally focused on but not completely for people who have a dementia diagnoses.

You will be supporting people to engage in meaningful activities Supporting people with occasional personal care Supporting people to keep safe due to their confusion Supporting people to mobilise to and from the dining room, toilet ect.

You will promote independence and dignity To work well with existing day care staff members and managers to deliver a valued service You will require experience with working with Older people with a physical or mental health need.

A good level of written and verbal communication

Some of your main responsibilities and duties will be to -

  1. Empower individuals who use the services to be as independent as possible and maximise their potential, by delivering person centred care.
  2. Contribute to the protection and safeguarding of individuals by contributing to minimising the level of abuse in care environments. To report any concern or suspicion or allegation of neglect or harm.
  3. Maintain accurate records in accordance with the service standards.
  4. Supporting with all aspects of Personal care and support needs set out with in the individual care plan.
  5. Enable Service Users to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance
  6. Helping Service Users to get ready for eating and drinking. Assisting Service Users to consume food and drink, when appropriate
  7. Prepare individuals and environments for moving and handling. Assist individuals to move from one position to another. Assist individuals to prevent and minimise the adverse effects of pressure
  8. Deliver activities to ensure a stimulating environment and mental and physical wellbeing
  9. Establish and maintain effective communication with people. Develop relationships with people which value them as individuals.

This role will require working days, nights, evening and weekends.
