Job description

My Client is currently looking for a Housing Standard Officer to join their team on a temporary basis for approx 3 months ongoing at the rate of £35.00 umbrella. This is to start Asap.

A Standard DBS will be needed as majority of work will be handling private sector housing complaints.

With your experience you will;

  • Carry out a wide range of investigation and enforcement duties in respect to the full range of private rented housing sector, premises in multiple occupation providing a high quality customer focussed service to residents and elected members
  • Resolving complaints
  • Carrying out environmental enforcement and providing technical advice.
  • The aim of the service is to ensure that legislation is complied with by applying best practice and meeting national and local organisational aims and objectives.
  • No direct supervisory responsibility however may be required to assist in induction and training of peers and new employees.
  • Three or more years experience in a similar role undertaking complaint and case work related to full range of private rented housing sector, premises in multiple occupation.
  • Contribute to the development of service plans, and the monitoring of performance in relation to the plan and otherwise and to support continuous service improvement.
  • Identify and suggest any improvements to current ways of working in order to deliver a more efficient and effective service for customers.
  • Support and implement complex joint problem solving approaches through engagement with partner agencies, other council departments and the public.
  • Actively support and contribute to the work of the team and other functions in Residents Services.
