Job description

We are currently working with a Local Authority in the East Midlands that require a highly experienced SEND Officer.

You will be responsible for the following:

- Accurately identifying, determining and reviewing the needs of children and young people with (SEND) in full accordance with the SEND Code of Practice 2015 0-25 years, other relevant legislation and requirements.
- Lead and make decisions on new requests for a Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessments to determine sound outcomes for children/young people within the statutory timelines.
- Ensuring all relevant partners and stakeholder actively and effectively contribute the EHC Needs Assessment and reviewing process, and that all relevant documentation is requested and received in full in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice 2015 0-25 years and all other relevant legislation and requirements.
- The lead on the provision and delivery of guidance and support to young people and their families to enable them to develop and review person centred EHCP.
- Ensuring full participation in PfA for young people with SEND, including young people in residential settings, schools and colleges.
