Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week (no on-call requirement)
Job Summary:
Noble's Hospital is seeking a Band 7 Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join the Duty Team within the Community Mental Health Service for Adults (CMHSA) on a full-time temporary basis. The postholder will play a critical role in delivering statutory mental health assessments and interventions in line with UK legislation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team on the Isle of Man, contributing to high-quality community mental health care.
Key Requirements:
Must be AMHP Qualified (Approved Mental Health Professional status)
Recent UK experience in a similar statutory mental health role
Ability to work autonomously and make defensible decisions under the Mental Health Act
Experience in coordinating Mental Health Act assessments and working in multi-agency settings
Excellent report writing, safeguarding, and risk management skills

The post-holder is required to have a clear and positive communication style both verbally and non-verbally they will be required to provide written and verbal information in a succinct manner in a way that is understood by those that they are communicating with they will need to provide information by email, but use this as a tool when appropriate and not as an alternative to face to face or verbal communication unless circumstances dictate this
Responsibility
Leadership - The post-holder is responsibility for the leadership in a ward area, in particular that of Nursing staff, but also contributes to the effective working of the Multi-Disciplinary team the post-holder is also a member of the hospital leadership team
Experience
* At least 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant clinical setting
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience of clinical audit and/ or service improvement based on evidence desirable
* Experience of working in an environment that requires the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Has experience in management and leadership of teams.

Rotherham Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our Adults Mental Health Services team. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility alongside the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing complex mental health needs.
You will play a critical role in delivering the Local Authority's statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act, particularly supporting individuals subject to Section 37/41 and social supervision. You will also undertake Care Act assessments and care planning, working in a strengths-based way to identify personal strengths, support networks, and community resources.
Key Responsibilities
Fulfil duties under the Mental Health Act, including social supervision and statutory assessments.
Deliver Care Act 2014 assessments and person-centred care planning.
Undertake complex risk assessments and safeguarding investigations.
Promote the social care perspective within multidisciplinary teams.
Engage with individuals, families, carers, and external partners effectively.
Mentor and supervise junior staff or students.
Contribute to ongoing learning, development, and practice improvement.
Shortlisting & Interview Criteria
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:
Valid AMHP qualification and active practice.
Significant post-qualifying experience applying legislation (Mental Health Act, Care Act, Mental Capacity Act).
Deep understanding of Part III of the Mental Health Act.
Strong commitment to mental health social work theory and application.
Substantial experience in adult mental health settings.
Proven ability to manage complex risk and safeguarding scenarios.
Demonstrated multi-agency working and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in mentoring or supervising staff or students.
Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
Essential Requirements
Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g. CQSW, DipSW, CSS, Degree in Social Work).
Valid AMHP qualification.
Registration with Social Work England.
Enhanced DBS clearance.
Participation in 24/7 AMHP rota may be required (community and hospital-based roles).
Additional Information
This is a hybrid role with flexibility but will include in-person duties where required.
No contractual overtime, standby or unsociable hours compensation unless agreed otherwise.
Not a politically restricted position.

Key Responsibilities:
Respond to emergency referrals outside of standard working hours
Undertake statutory duties under the Mental Health Act 1983 as an AMHP
Lead on Care Act 2014 assessments for adults and carers in crisis
Conduct full risk assessments and coordinate the assessment process, liaising with relevant bodies (e.g. police, ambulance services, courts)
Carry out Mental Health Act assessments, including applications for detention and advising on legal rights
Provide support and arrange emergency or temporary care placements when needed
Attend Custody Suites as an _Appropriate Adult_ or conduct assessments under the MHA or Care Act
Provide detailed written reports, maintain accurate records using both paper and the LAS system
Refer all non-urgent matters to the relevant daytime service and conduct face-to-face handovers
Contribute to service development and national AMHP initiatives by attending forums and training
Promote safeguarding procedures and ensure confidentiality is maintained
Requirements:
Qualified and approved AMHP, with up-to-date AMHP registration
Strong knowledge of Mental Health legislation, Care Act 2014, and safeguarding practices
Experience of conducting out-of-hours statutory assessments
Ability to work autonomously and handle complex/high-risk cases
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Willingness to attend supervision, team meetings, and training events occasionally during office hours
