Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Learning Disabilities Team on a locum basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of adults with learning disabilities

Complete Care Act assessments, support planning, and reviews

Undertake Mental Capacity and Best Interest assessments

Work in partnership with health colleagues, families, and providers

Promote independence and safeguard vulnerable adults

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with active SWE registration

Experience working with adults with learning disabilities

Strong understanding of the Care Act, MCA, and relevant legislation

Ability to work collaboratively and manage complex caseloads

We are currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join the Adult Safeguarding Team at Lewisham Council.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act

Complete mental capacity assessments and risk assessments

Collaborate with partner agencies, health professionals, and service users

Promote person-centred, strengths-based approaches

Maintain clear, accurate case notes and reports

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Proven experience in adult safeguarding within local authority settings

Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014, MCA, and safeguarding procedures

Effective communication and assessment skills

The London Borough of Lambeth are currently recruiting for a qualified adult Social Worker to join their learning disability team. This is a full-time locum working 35 hours a
week.

The Role:

* To promote positive change in people's lives by using social work methods, models and tools, with the aims of helping them to be as independent as possible and to manage risks of abuse and neglect

* To make professional judgements in the context of the relevant legal and policy frameworks

* To work with people to carry out assessments of their needs for care and support, to plan how those needs will be met, to support them with putting those plans in to action, and review those plans and reassess needs

* To carry out adult safeguarding enquiries, support the work of others involved in these enquiries, and to support people with care and support needs to develop and put in to action safeguarding plans appropriate to their wishes and circumstances

Essential Requirements:

* Social Work Qualification - Degree
* Experience as a Social Worker working with adult disability teams.
* Social Work England Registration
