Trafford Council is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Qualified Social Worker to join the North Neighbourhood Team, part of its integrated community service. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of adults and older people in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
Undertake strengths-based assessments, focusing on preventative and outcome-driven support

Conduct social work assessments and interventions, securing appropriate levels of funding in line with the Reshaping Trafford Policy

Engage in informative and preventative conversations with service users, carers, and multi-agency partners

Respond to safeguarding enquiries in accordance with the Care Act and local safeguarding procedures

Work collaboratively within the community/neighbourhood team to ensure holistic and person-centred care planning

Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

Registered with Social Work England

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a statutory Adult Social Care setting

Experience working in a community/neighbourhood team is highly desirable

Good knowledge of the Care Act, safeguarding protocols, and strengths-based practice

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

About the Role:
As a Social Worker within our North Neighbourhood Team, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality adult social care. You will carry out strengths-based assessments and provide person-centred interventions that focus on promoting independence, wellbeing, and resilience.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting social work assessments and interventions in line with the Care Act 2014

Engaging in preventative and informative conversations to identify individual needs and outcomes

Securing appropriate levels of funding in line with Reshaping Trafford Policy

Responding effectively to safeguarding concerns and enquiries, following local and national guidance

Working collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and partner agencies

What we're looking for:
A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
Registered with Social Work England
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a statutory adult social care setting
Strong understanding of current legislation, including the Care Act
A proactive, reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement
Excellent communication and case management skills
