Temporary Facilities Manager - Further Education College
Location: Greater Manchester
Rate: £25 - £30 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (Full-Time)

Eden Brown are seeking a full time temporary Facilities Manager to support the Head of Estates in delivering a high-quality, responsive Estate's service that benefits both students and staff.


This role will play a vital part in ensuring the College's estate is maintained to the highest standard while championing sustainability and health & safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head of Estates in managing day-to-day maintenance activities, minimising disruption to students and staff.
* Oversee the coordination of planned and specialist maintenance, ensuring all work is completed in line with legislation and good practice.
* Manage contractors and in-house teams, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
* Enforce the College's Sustainability Plan, focusing on waste reduction, eco-friendly products, and energy efficiency.
* Co-chair the Health & Safety Committee, ensuring health & safety standards are embedded across all activities.
* Support the maintenance of Building Plans, ensuring they align with College priorities.
* Coordinate Estates & Facilities Helpdesk operations and provide essential reporting on key activities and utilities management.

Key Attributes:
* Strong organisational and management skills.
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations, sustainability practices, and estate management.
* Ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, from contractors to College staff.
* Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.

Eden Brown Education are currently looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Lecturer on behalf of a leading further education college in Greater Manchester.

This is a full time, permanent position where you will be part of a curriculum team, contributing to delivery, planning, development and student support and must be proficient in teaching fitting, turning and milling and will need practical experience on a lay and milling machines

The successful Mechanical Engineer will be required teach on a range of courses at level 2 and level 3 including full time, part time and apprentices.

You'll be responsible for planning, delivering and developing teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles, whilst assessing learners progress in College or on work experience and devise assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets.

To apply for the role you will have:
* A Recognised teaching qualification or good proven teaching/training experience
* Industry experience
* A minimum level 3 Mechanical Engineering related qualification
* Literacy and Numeracy to at least level 2
* Experience teaching Mechanical Engineering to level 3
* Fitting milling and turning experience
* Be available on a full time basis
* An assessors IV qualification is Beneficial but not assessment

A current DBS will also be required for this role. If you do not have a current DBS check the college will apply on your behalf.

This is a full time, temporary role.
Duties include:
* Undertake activity to ensure the workshops are kept in a safe and tidy condition. This duty may include daily checks on services and workshop equipment to ensure their safe condition for use.

* Provide maintenance, repair and remedial action as appropriate to equipment and resources.

* Maintain and restore equipment to safe use as directed whilst reporting any faults appropriately.

* Ensure efficient system of safe storage of equipment and resources whilst maintaining appropriate stock levels.

To apply you will need a knowledge of electrical installation and a level 2 qualification.
