Suffolk County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Haverhill Social Care Team. You'll be supporting children and families by delivering high-quality interventions and safeguarding services. This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals looking to work in a dynamic and supportive team.

Undertaking statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47

Managing and reviewing Children in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans

Coordinating multi-agency meetings and attending child protection conferences

Developing child-centred care plans based on robust assessments

Ensuring timely recording and effective case management

Engaging directly with children, families, and professionals to deliver positive outcomes

Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England

Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in Children's Services

Strong understanding of child protection, CIN procedures, and safeguarding legislation

Able to manage a varied and complex caseload independently

Excellent communication and report writing skills

Must be a driver with access to own vehicle

Access to both West Suffolk House and Haverhill satellite office

Strong commitment to professional development and reflective supervision
