Join our dedicated team in Oldham as a Qualified Social Worker within the Duty and Assessment Intervention Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community. You will be responsible for conducting initial assessments, responding to referrals, and ensuring that appropriate interventions are put in place to safeguard vulnerable individuals. Your expertise will contribute to developing tailored support plans that promote positive outcomes for families.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support. Responding promptly to referrals and ensuring timely interventions. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to provide holistic support. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Providing guidance and support to families, empowering them to access necessary resources.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Proven experience in child protection and assessment processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

We are seeking a confident and experienced social worker who is passionate about delivering high-quality practice and ensuring positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:Hold and manage complex and high-risk cases across safeguarding and care planning.Lead on statutory work, including child protection conferences, care proceedings, and multi-agency planning.Mentor, support, and advise social workers and students within the team.Contribute to service development, quality assurance, and best practice standards.Liaise with children, families, and key partner agencies to ensure effective safeguarding interventions.Requirements:SWE registered with a recognised Social Work qualification.Substantial post-qualified experience in frontline children's services (safeguarding and care planning essential).Ability to mentor and support staff in complex decision-making.Willingness to work from the Oldham office at least 3 days per week.
