We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join the Adult Safeguarding Team in Blackburn with Darwen.
This is a frontline safeguarding role within a dynamic team responsible for receiving and triaging all adult safeguarding concerns. The team acts swiftly to assess risks and implement immediate safeguarding plans to protect vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and assess safeguarding concerns.
Conduct risk assessments and implement urgent safeguarding measures.
Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure comprehensive safeguarding responses.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
Participate in safeguarding strategy meetings and reviews.
Requirements:
Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
Significant experience in Adult Safeguarding is essential.
Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation.
Excellent decision-making and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, frontline environment.
Working Arrangements:
Minimum of 3 days per week office-based (60%) following induction.
Remaining time can be worked remotely in line with the hybrid model.

Blackburn with Darwen Children's Services who have recently been graded 'good' in its full ILACS Ofsted inspection, require a full time agency social worker to cover in its Duty, Assessment & CIN Service as soon as possible.
The candidate will have at least 3 years post qualification experience in Duty and Assessment and/or longer term Safeguarding/CP/Court work.
The candidate must have a SWE registration and be a car driver, with previous experience of the use of Protocol Liquid Logic an advantage but not essential.
You must have good communication skills and be a team worker with the ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
There will be both office-based working and home working arrangements as per the service requirements so you will be required to work flexibly and with a requirement to be office based 3 days per week as a minimum.
