Bristol City Council - Social Worker (Community Adult Team)
Pay: £32-£35 p/h (rates capped at £32 unless specialist)
Location: Bristol
Hybrid Working: First 2 weeks full office-based then 1-2 office days per week
Bristol City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Community Adult Social Care Team. You will be responsible for:
Completing Care Act assessments, carer assessments, and reviews
Developing support plans
Leading safeguarding enquiries
Making mental capacity and best interest decisions (where necessary)
Working in partnership with health, housing, and voluntary services
Specialist applicants (BIA, AMHP, PE - practicing in BCC) may be considered for up to £34 p/h. This must be clearly shown on the CV at submission.

We looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker with extensive Child Protection, Family Support and Court experience to join their Private Sector Court focused organization. The Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass) is a non-departmental public body for England set up to safeguard and promote the welfare of children involved in family court proceedings. It was formed on 1 April 2001 under the provisions of the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000 and is accountable to Parliament through the Ministry of Justice. Cafcass is independent of the courts, social services, education and health authorities and all similar agencies.
Cafcass looks after the interests of children involved in family proceedings. It works with children and their families, and then advises the courts on what it considers to be in the children's best interests. Cafcass only works in family courts.
You will be SWE registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK

About the Role:
Bristol City Council is looking for experienced Adult Social Workers to join the hospital discharge teams at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Southmead Hospital.
You'll be part of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team supporting timely, safe discharges and delivering high-quality care planning. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the UK's most dynamic cities, making a real difference to people at a critical point in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake Care Act assessments and create person-centred support plans.
Facilitate safe, strengths-based hospital discharges.
Empower individuals to make informed decisions and manage risk.
Liaise with health professionals, families, and external services.
Promote and utilise assistive technology and community resources.
Adapt and respond to evolving needs within a busy hospital setting.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.
Recent hospital discharge or adult social care experience.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, MCA, and safeguarding processes.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work 5 days per week onsite, unless adjustments are agreed.
