Pay Rate: £34.00 - £44.71 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Hybrid working (specific office days TBC)

Thurrock Council is looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Adolescent Team, supporting vulnerable young people through effective social work interventions. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of adolescents navigating complex challenges.

Working directly with adolescents at risk of exploitation, missing episodes, or breakdown in care

Carrying a reduced caseload with a focus on complex cases

Leading on multi-agency planning and safeguarding for young people aged 11-18

Offering support, supervision, and guidance to Social Workers in the team

Implementing relationship-based practice and trauma-informed approaches

Contributing to service development through reflective practice and mentoring

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

Significant post-qualified experience, ideally within adolescent or youth-focused teams

Strong understanding of child protection, contextual safeguarding, and working with complex adolescent needs

Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency setting

Must be a driver with access to own vehicle

Be part of a team dedicated to protecting and empowering adolescents

Engage in multi-agency working with youth justice, education, and health services

Access to ongoing professional development and support

Innovative practice framework focused on building trust with young people
