Luton Borough Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) service. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and effective triage, decision-making, and safeguarding interventions for vulnerable children and young people across Luton.

Lead and manage a team of social workers and MASH officers in line with council policies

Ensure safeguarding referrals are processed promptly and appropriately

Maintain strong multi-agency partnerships to support joint decision-making

Provide supervision, guidance, and performance management to staff

Oversee Section 47 and Section 17 referrals and ensure compliance with statutory duties

Monitor the quality and timeliness of assessments, thresholds, and outcomes

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Management experience in a MASH or similar statutory team

In-depth knowledge of safeguarding thresholds, policies, and procedures

Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

Minimum 3 years PQE and previous team management experience essential

A well-established MASH model with experienced partners from health, police, and education

We are currently seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner with a strong background in safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) to join a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a specialist advisor in matters relating to safeguarding and DoLS.
* Undertake complex casework and support best practice in mental capacity assessments and DoLS applications.
* Provide guidance and support to social workers and other professionals.
* Contribute to policy development, service improvement, and training delivery in line with statutory frameworks.
Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registration required).
* Substantial post-qualifying experience in adult safeguarding.
* In-depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and DoLS framework.
* Strong communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
