Flintshire County Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Adult Services team. This is a practitioner-level role, responsible for managing complex cases independently while promoting the safety, wellbeing, and independence of vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be supported by the Team Manager and work within a well-established team in a single, identifiable area of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake community care and safeguarding assessments in line with statutory requirements.
Develop and implement outcome-focused, cost-effective care plans.
Support service users, families, and carers in making informed choices.
Manage a caseload of complex clients, including regular monitoring and review.
Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to gather and share information.
Maintain accurate case records and provide reports/evidence for court when necessary.
Promote independence, early intervention, and conflict resolution where appropriate.
Supervise students, trainees, or volunteers as needed.
Engage in continuing professional development including post-qualifying training and awards.
Requirements:
Essential:
Social Work qualification (CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent)
Registration with Social Care Wales
Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience in adult services
Proven ability to assess and manage risk, and design effective care plans
Ability to work autonomously under pressure and manage complex safeguarding cases
Strong communication and inter-agency collaboration skills
Commitment to service user independence and rights
Desirable:
Experience working with older people and their carers
Familiarity with relevant social care legislation
Experience in multi-disciplinary team settings
Supervisory experience or qualifications such as Practice Assessor or Best Interest Assessor
