Southend-on-Sea Council is looking for an experienced Adults Social Worker to join their Ageing Well West Community Team on a full-time locum basis.
Role Details:
Pay: £32.00 per hour
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Driving: Not required if local
Contract: Full-time Locum
Hours: 37 per week
You will be responsible for managing a caseload of adults requiring support under the Care Act, carrying out strength-based assessments, and helping individuals maintain independence within their community.

Job Summary:
Southend-on-Sea City Council is looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Children Looked After (CLA) team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work services to children and young people in care, supporting positive long-term outcomes.
You will work within a stable, supportive team, maintaining statutory responsibilities and developing care plans in collaboration with children, families, carers, and multi-agency teams.
Key Responsibilities Include:Manage a full caseload of Looked After Children (LAC)
Conduct statutory visits, contribute to reviews and care planning
Work closely with carers, health, and education professionals
Safeguard children by assessing risk and responding appropriately
Prepare reports and attend LAC reviews, PEPs, and relevant meetings
Record all interventions accurately and maintain up-to-date case files
Promote stability and well-being in children's placements
Required Qualifications & Skills:Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Children Looked After team
Strong understanding of child protection, care planning, and legislation
Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining excellent standards
Must have a Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
Strong communication, engagement, and written reporting skills
IT literate with experience using social care systems
