We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Social Worker to join our Adult Safeguarding Hub in Trafford. This is a chance to contribute to a forward-thinking, supportive team at the heart of adult social care, helping to shape and deliver best practice safeguarding services across the borough.

About the Role
As part of our Safeguarding Hub, you will be responsible for:

Acting as a single point of access for all adult safeguarding referrals.

Screening and triaging concerns, coordinating provider-led safeguarding responses, and managing organisational safeguarding issues.

Ensuring safeguarding responses are timely, proportionate, and aligned with current legislation and policy.

Working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to promote the safety and wellbeing of adults at risk.

About You
We're looking for someone who embodies Trafford's values and behaviours, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services and driving continuous improvement. You will:

Be a Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration.

Have experience working in adult social care, particularly in safeguarding.

Possess strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislative frameworks.

Be proactive, reflective, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for adults at risk.

Work well in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate strong decision-making and organisational skills.

Trafford's South Community Mental Health Team is looking for a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their innovative, person-centred service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team, supporting adults with severe mental health conditions to live fulfilling and independent lives.

In this role, you'll take a holistic, strengths-based approach, working closely with individuals, families, and wider support networks. Your practice will be grounded in the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Human Rights Act 1998, with a strong focus on empowerment, social justice, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of adults with complex mental health needs under the Care Programme Approach (CPA)

Deliver statutory social care functions and personalised care planning

Promote positive risk-taking and enablement, preventing crisis interventions where possible

Collaborate with professionals across health and social care within a multi-disciplinary team

Support families through a 'Think Family' approach

Promote independence and reduce reliance on long-term care

Apply a recovery model and social model of disability in your everyday practice

About You:
We're looking for a committed and reflective Social Worker who:

Holds Social Work England registration

Demonstrates a strong professional identity and ethical practice

Is confident in legal literacy and applying relevant legislation

Communicates with warmth, empathy, and professionalism

Uses curiosity and creativity to deliver meaningful outcomes

Embraces a solution-focused, can-do attitude in a dynamic team environment

Has experience working with adults with complex mental health needs

AMHP status is desirable but not essential.
