As a Children’s Social Worker in our D&A Team, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans to support families dealing with substance misuse. Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local policies and procedures. Providing support and guidance to families to promote recovery and resilience.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families, particularly in relation to substance misuse. Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Bradford is seeking compassionate, skilled Social Workers - including Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) or those working toward AMHP status - to join our integrated Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs).
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside colleagues from Bradford District Care Trust, supporting adults with complex mental health needs across a diverse demographic area.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Care Act assessments, support planning, and safeguarding interventions
Perform care coordination and Local Authority statutory duties
Assess and manage complex mental health risks in the community
Build effective working relationships with professionals, service users, and families
Promote risk enablement, independence, and strengths-based approaches
Engage with a range of community, voluntary, and health services
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered)
Experience working in adult mental health or CMHTs
Sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding (Section 42)
Strong understanding of the social factors impacting mental health
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
AMHP qualification is desirable but not essential - support will be offered
