Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for a dedicated and knowledgeable SEND Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Co-ordinator to join Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council on a temporary contract. Eden Brown Synergy is Looking for a SEND Tribunal Officer to join the SEND Services at Worcestershire County Council. A SEND Tribunal Officer is responsible for defending SEND appeals lodged by parents and young people against a local authority. Amongst their responsibilities, a SEND Tribunal Officer will review the case and co-ordinate and the councils response. Responsibilities * Defend appeals against the local authority. * Facilitate discussions between schools and families with the aim of resolving disputes amicably. * Attend tribunal hearings (when necessary). * Conduct thorough reviews of evidence. * Prepare all appeal papers for the council and parents (prior to the hearing) * Respond to judicial orders. * Ensure that the tribunal process runs smoothly, maintaining professionalism and impartiality. * Maintain accurate and detailed records related to mediation and tribunal cases. * Provide an accurate response to local authority appeals. * Attend pre-hearing meetings. * Take notes to assist the preparation of cases. * Ensure that the tribunal process runs smoothly and fairly, maintaining professionalism and impartiality. Key Skills * A thorough understanding of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) legislation and the SEND Code of Practice. * Familiarity with legal principles and procedures related to special educational needs and disabilities. * The ability to analyse and evaluate evidence, identify key arguments, and assess the strength of a case. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to parents and stakeholders. * Skills in facilitating dialogue, promoting collaboration, and resolving disputes through mediation and negotiation. * Strong organisational skills to manage and prioritise multiple cases, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines. * A keen eye for detail to review and assess complex documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Proficiency in conducting thorough research to gather relevant information and evidence to support cases. * The capability to identify creative solutions, navigate complex issues, and address challenges that may arise during the tribunal process. * An awareness and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and their potential impact on the SEND tribunal process. * Maintaining high ethical standards, professionalism, and impartiality in all interactions and decisions. * A commitment to ongoing professional development to stay updated on changes in SEND legislation, best practices, and new developments in the field. Eden Brown Synergy is Looking for an Experienced Residential Children's Homes Manager to join the Children's Home Services for Wokingham Borough Council As the Residential Children's Homes Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of the two residential homes, and the provision of a professional children and young people centred service, in line with the relevant regulations, legislation, codes of practice, and policy and procedures. ? This exciting new service provides a unique opportunity for the Residential Children's Homes Manager to have full autonomy, recruiting your own team and leading on the development of an essential service that will positively impact on the lives of children and young people.? Wokingham Borough Council's aim is to enable our most vulnerable children and young people in care to live close to the things they hold dear - close to family, friends, community, and those who care for them most. This service comprises a multi-building children's home including a 4-bedroom Emotional Behaviour Disorder/Difficulties (EBD) home and up to 2 smaller Complex homes. These homes will enable more children with complex needs to remain in or return to Wokingham and to avoid the use of unregistered placements and children living away from their communities and networks. ? Key Responsibilities will include: * To lead and be responsible for the effective management of the residential homes, and the provision of a professional, child centred service in accordance with the relevant regulations, legislation, guidance, codes of practice, policy and procedures. * The role will oversee the management of 2 children's homes and the services provided to them in each Unit. This will include registration as the 'Homes Manager' for Ofsted purposes. * To manage and oversee the annual budget of both children's homes. * To ensure that services are delivered in partnership with all key stakeholders so that children's assessed needs are met on a planned, holistic basis within a family setting whenever this is consistent with their best interests. * To deal with complex issues effectively in order to develop a responsive and effective service for users, delivered within designated budgets. * To develop specialist knowledge in the field for which the post carries management responsibility, acting as a resource and source of excellence to both peers and more senior colleagues. * Embedding, training, and implementing the chosen therapeutic practice model approach into every aspect of the homes' management. * Work closely with the other Corporate Parenting teams to develop and maintain the best possible placement options to keep children and young people safe, happy and close to Wokingham where possible. * To ensure staff are well supported and safer recruitment is in place.
