An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering Service as an Assessment social worker. This would include the completion of Special Guardianship assessments and Connected Person Assessments including conversion assessments for those carers pursuing a Special Guardianship arrangement. This is an exciting time to join Cardiff, which is an Authority on the implementation journey that uses strengths based practice in their approach to working with children and their families. We are looking for a qualified social worker with experience of supporting foster carers and cared for children and young people to join us in our stable and experienced mainstream fostering team. You will be responsible for supervising foster carers, as well as participating our duty service in which you will assist in identifying matches for young people who need to be cared for. The role also involves participating in recruitment activities and foster carer events. You will be required to have a good working knowledge of legislation related to cared for children and the regulatory requirements related to local authority fostering services.
