Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Qualified Social Worker to join the Child Protection / Child in Need (CP/CIN) Team at Birmingham Children's Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy frontline team, managing complex Child Protection and Child in Need cases while supporting children and families through effective assessment, intervention and safeguarding. As a Senior Social Worker, you will also provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues, promoting high-quality practice and positive outcomes.
Key Skills Required:
Experience within Child Protection, Child in Need, Safeguarding or Assessment TeamsStrong knowledge of statutory children's social care legislation and safeguarding practiceExperience managing complex caseloads and completing statutory assessmentsAbility to support and mentor less experienced practitionersExcellent communication, report writing and multi-agency working skillsSocial Work England registration requiredEssential Requirements:

Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing intervention plans for children and families in need. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, ensuring best practices are followed. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local authority policies. Collaborating with external agencies, schools, and healthcare providers to coordinate services. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
