CAFCASS is currently seeking an experienced Agency Family Court Adviser (FCA) to join their Public & Private Law Team in Stevenage.

Location & Working Pattern

Based in StevenageMonthly office attendanceInduction: Combination of remote and office-based working

Rate

£37.75 per hour

Role Requirements

Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experienceStrong court experience is essentialExperience producing Section 7 reports (majority of workload)Ability to provide high-quality written and oral evidence to CourtStrong background in assessment and case analysis

Key Responsibilities

This role involves providing advanced social work services to children, families, and the court system by:

Undertaking detailed assessments of child protection and serious welfare concernsPreparing and presenting Section 7 reportsAdvising the court and local authorities on safeguarding and welfare issuesEnsuring the child's voice remains central throughout proceedingsSupporting families and professionals to maintain a child-focused approachInfluencing those with parental responsibility to prioritise the child's needsSupporting judicial case management processes

You will be expected to be a resilient, reflective, and accountable practitioner, capable of managing a high-quality caseload efficiently.
