Stockport Council is looking for experienced Social Workers to join their Out of Hours (OOH) Service, providing an effective and timely response to urgent situations outside standard business hours. You will work as part of a well-established, highly experienced team delivering statutory social care functions. The team benefits from regular Team Manager support and an On-Call Service Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

Responding to urgent notifications involving vulnerable children and adults at risk of harmCarrying out statutory duties including Section 47 investigations and adult safeguardingCoordinating emergency placements for children (including PACE beds) and adultsCompleting welfare checks and visits as requiredExercising sound decision-making in high-pressure and time-sensitive situations

About You:
We are seeking a confident and passionate practitioner who:

Has a minimum of 3 years' experience in a statutory children's social work teamIs registered with Social Work EnglandDemonstrates excellent judgement, resilience, and the ability to think creatively and act quicklyCan manage urgent social work interventions effectively while maintaining professional standardsEmbraces professional development and collaborative practice
