Join our dedicated team in Darlington as a Children’s Social Worker in the Assessment/Safeguarding Team, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with families, professionals, and agencies to assess needs and implement effective safeguarding measures. Your expertise will help to create a safe and nurturing environment for children, making a real difference in their lives.

As a Children’s Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing tailored care plans in partnership with families and other professionals. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to safeguard children. Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive outcomes for children. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Registered with Social Work England (SWE). Experience in children’s social work, particularly in assessment and safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
