Stockport Council is seeking a Team Manager to lead a dedicated Locality-based CP/CIN team, supporting families from the point of referral through to long-term planning and intervention-without transition points. 🧩 About the Role
As Team Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of six Social Workers and two Senior Practitioners across duty and long-term Child Protection and CIN work. You'll ensure high-quality supervision, promote outstanding practice, and work in a collaborative and supportive environment where career development is championed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Leading and supervising a locality social work team handling CP/CIN casesSupporting practitioners through complex safeguarding and court processes (including pre-proceedings)Championing the relationship-based, restorative practice modelEnhancing performance and outcomes across a diverse and rewarding caseloadWorking closely with the Service Leader and senior management to drive best practice

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work EnglandStrong leadership experience across Child Protection and CIN teamsSkilled in court work, pre-proceedings, and multi-agency collaborationCommitted to strengths-based, family-led practiceMotivated to lead, support, and grow your team and service
