Job Opportunity: Qualified Social Worker - Duty Role
Service: Integrated Learning Disability Team (ILDT)
Location: Hackney Council
Contract: Locum (Initial 3 Months)
Hours: Full-Time - 36 hours per week
Pay Rate: £32.00 per hour
Hackney Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Integrated Learning Disability Team in a Duty Social Worker role. This position involves working in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment, supporting adults with learning disabilities through preventative, safeguarding, and emergency response interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, following up to ensure safety and well-being of service users
Record decisions and actions clearly and robustly on Mosaic
Work collaboratively within a multi-agency team delivering seamless health and social care services
Provide direct advice, preventative support, and timely interventions for adults with learning disabilities
Respond to urgent duty matters using appropriate resources
Carry out assessments, reviews, and emergency visits when required
Apply principles of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) appropriately in all interventions
Maintain professional social care standards in line with Social Work England requirements and Hackney's performance expectations
Ensure risk management frameworks are embedded in all practice
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Proven experience working with adults with learning disabilities, preferably within an integrated team
Strong understanding of safeguarding, the Care Act, and MCA
Proficient in using Mosaic or similar case management systems
Ability to manage competing priorities in a duty environment
Clear, concise report writing and case recording skills

Hackney Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Duty Social Worker to join the Integrated Learning Disability Team. This is a dynamic, front-line role where youll be responding to urgent matters, safeguarding concerns, and supporting adults with learning disabilities in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for urgent queries and safeguarding concerns.
Record actions and decisions clearly and accurately on Mosaic.
Work collaboratively as part of a multi-agency team to deliver integrated health and social care.
Provide direct advice, support, and emergency assessments to adults with learning disabilities.
Ensure timely risk management and application of the Mental Capacity Act where appropriate.
Maintain high standards of professional social care practice in line with Social Work England requirements.
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Proven experience working with adults with learning disabilities
Ability to manage emergency situations and act decisively
Familiarity with Mosaic case recording system is desirable
Strong understanding of risk management and safeguarding processes
