Job Title: Approved Social Worker (ASW) - Learning Disabilities (LD) Community Team
Location: Haringey
Pay Rate: £32.52 per hour
Contract Type: Locum (Full-Time)
Team: Learning Disabilities Community Team (West Locality)
About the Role:
Haringey Council is seeking a committed and experienced Approved Social Worker (ASW) to join the Learning Disabilities Community Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in line with statutory duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Care Act assessments, including carers' assessments and Section 42 enquiries as part of safeguarding procedures.
Complete Mental Capacity Act assessments for individuals who may lack capacity to make specific decisions.
Identify eligibility for Continuing Healthcare (CHC) or Section 117 funding, complete checklists, and collaborate with health professionals for joint assessments.
Undertake Human Rights Act assessments for individuals with no recourse to public funds who may require Care Act support.
Conduct urgent reviews and annual reviews of care and support plans, including for carers.
Manage a varied caseload, ensuring timely reviews and that care plans are up-to-date and responsive to changing needs.
Intervene promptly in safeguarding or crisis situations to protect vulnerable adults, initiating appropriate legal/statutory actions.
Actively participate in multi-disciplinary working through the HLDP (Haringey Learning Disabilities Partnership) and West Locality team collaboration.
Develop strengths-based, person-centred care and support plans in partnership with service users and carers.
Promote community inclusion by signposting to and engaging community resources, ensuring efficient use of care budgets and best outcomes for residents.
