Location: Southend-on-Sea
Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, occasional weekends)
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Care Trainer to join a values-driven care organisation based in Southend-on-Sea. This role offers the chance to lead and shape the delivery of training across both internal teams and external customers, helping to ensure that staff have the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to provide exceptional care and support.
The organisation operates a range of residential and community-based services,and is committed to empowering its workforce while delivering high-quality care with compassion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver high-quality, engaging training across a variety of adult social care topics including safeguarding, dementia, mental health, and substance misuse.
Create bespoke course content tailored to legislative requirements, sector guidance, and company values.
Lead induction training and support the assessment and delivery of the Care Certificate.
Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of both face-to-face and e-learning programmes.
Maintain accurate training records and monitor compliance across teams.
Utilise funding streams to strengthen training offerings, including the apprenticeship levy and government learning development schemes.
Support the development of an internal Care Professional Academy, fostering a learning culture and supporting staff retention.
Collaborate with service managers and HR to meet training KPIs and address service-specific needs.
Manage the training calendar and coordinate external training providers when required.
Support internal leadership and HR training programmes and assist in developing the organisation's future ambitions as an accredited training provider.
Ideal Candidate
Holds a recognised training qualification (e.g. Level 3 AET, PTLLS, CTLLS) - Essential
Professional qualification in social care, nursing, or a related discipline - Essential
Experienced in delivering training within a health or social care setting - Essential
Confident communicator with strong presentation skills and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
Passionate about embedding best practice, CQC standards, and values into every aspect of training delivery.
Organised, adaptable, and committed to improving outcomes for both staff and service users.
