We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dynamic team in Herefordshire, focusing on adult social work. As an AMHP, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the mental health and wellbeing of adults within our community. Your expertise will be vital in assessing and supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, ensuring that they receive the appropriate care and interventions.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and risk evaluations. Collaborating with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders to develop and implement care plans. Providing guidance and support to social work staff and trainees in mental health legislation and best practices. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and contributing to service development initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

Qualified Social Worker status, with current registration with Social Work England. AMHP qualification and experience working within mental health services. Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
