About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Housing Benefit Assessment Officers for an exciting opportunity with Haringey Council. This is an excellent chance to join a busy revenues and benefits team and contribute to the delivery of essential services to residents.
Key Responsibilities
Assess Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims accurately and efficiently
Process new claims, changes in circumstances, and reviews
Ensure compliance with current benefit legislation and regulations
Investigate discrepancies and request supporting evidence where required
Maintain accurate records and case notes
Provide high-quality customer service to residents and stakeholders
Work towards performance targets and service deadlines
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Housing Benefit Assessment Officer
Strong knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction legislation
Experience using local authority benefits systems
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage a varied caseload
Strong communication and organisational skills
