Join our dedicated Children's Social Work - Drugs and Alcohol (D&A) Team in Lancashire, where you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and families affected by substance misuse. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing intervention plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our care. Your expertise will help us enhance the lives of those we serve and contribute to the overall improvement of community health and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing tailored support plans in collaboration with families, schools, and other agencies. Providing direct support and guidance to children and their families affected by substance misuse. Monitoring progress and reviewing cases to ensure effective outcomes. Participating in multi-agency meetings and maintaining accurate documentation.To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly in substance misuse or related fields. Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
