Join the dedicated Children's Safeguarding Team in Bath and North East Somerset as a Qualified Social Worker, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our community. In this challenging yet rewarding position, you will engage with families, assess needs, and implement safeguarding plans to protect vulnerable children. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality support and intervention, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote positive outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments of children and families to identify risks and support needs. Developing and implementing safeguarding plans in accordance with statutory guidelines. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including schools, health services, and law enforcement. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local policies and procedures. Providing support and guidance to families, helping them access necessary resources and services.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working in children's safeguarding or child protection settings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.

The role involves a mix of casework and reviews, including safeguarding processes, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to achieve positive outcomes.

This is a hybrid role however, some in-person visits are required, so you'll need access to a car. The team is based in Keynsham and covers the wider Bath & North East Somerset area.

Requirements:

Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration

Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism

Strong understanding of Care Act 2014 and safeguarding procedures

Access to a car and ability to travel across BANES

You will be SWE registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK
