We are currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a busy Children Team based in the East of Cornwall in St Austell. Long term contacts are offered with good rates of pay up to £34ph. Accommodation allowance is considered for this role.
Cornwall Council's Children and Family Services deliver effective front line services that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. Our social workers are innovative, positive and dedicated to make a real difference. Team Managers ensure regular reflective supervision and our training package is second to none.
The successful candidate should be able to hold child protection cases, have good written and verbal communication skills to work with a range of professionals and vulnerable families and Chair multi-agency core group meetings.
To complete and present reports within the Child Protection arena using Signs of Safety approach.
To be able to write court reports and present evidence to the court.
Have experience of Child Protection and Court work and Child in Care work.
Knowledge / use of Signs of Safety and MOSAIC system would be an advantage.
You will be SWE registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK

Team Manager required for work within the Long term Child Protection/Safeguarding Service in the Devon area. The primary role of a Team Manager is practice development, line management functions, supervision and support for a range of practitioners undertaking statutory social work and Youth Justice assessments and co-ordinating complex multi disciplinary plans for young people. Experience in working with practitioners supporting complex adolescents, knowledge and understanding or trauma informed practice. Knowledge or interest in Youth Justice Services.
* Developing close and constructive working relationships with a variety of professionals. An understanding of the need to recognise the importance of partnership working to safeguard children is essential.
* The ability to work at pace, prioritising where required in order to ensure that the children and families access services in a timely way.
* Previous experience of leading and managing a busy front line children's services team

What skills are required for the job:
The primary role of a Team Leader in Adult Social Care is to improve the welfare, safety and outcomes of the vulnerable adults and their carers. You will be required to lead a team across the PCN to deliver the vision and ambitious of a sustainable Adult Social Care to meet the demands of today and the future.
The Team Leader directly manages and supervises social care staff to carry out person centred, strength-based assessments. Helping to ensure that casework decisions effectively safeguard adults, promote their wellbeing and improve the quality of their lives. With the advice, supervision and support of a Senior Manager, the Team Leader manages a statutory service to vulnerable adults, providing a full range of statutory duties within a legal framework, in line with legislation and policy.
* How big is the team they will look after, how many direct reports? - Approx 12 staff
* Is there specific experience required such as, Safeguarding? Occupational Therapy etc? - safeguarding, self neglect etc multi agency interaction with health, housing, police etc
Start/End Date - As soon as possible
Full Time - 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, no condensed hours, hybrid working acceptable
