We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team in Northamptonshire. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in the local community.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Undertake assessments of children and families to identify risks and develop appropriate safeguarding plans. Work collaboratively with partner agencies and professionals to coordinate support and interventions for vulnerable children. Provide direct support and guidance to children and families, advocating for their needs and rights. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards. Participate in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to contribute to decision-making and planning.Essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England. Demonstrated experience in working within children's services, with a focus on safeguarding and child protection. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions in complex situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals. Northamptonshire Children's Trust is seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities team. The role involves working with Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care cases, with a strong focus on multi-disciplinary collaboration and direct support for children and families.
Key Responsibilities Include:Conduct assessments of need, create care packages, and review short break arrangements
Lead and participate in Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans
Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with education, health, and external agencies
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in accordance with statutory and local guidelines
Promote a strengths-based, person-centred approach
Carry out statutory visits, chair meetings, and prepare reports for internal panels and external agencies
Required Qualifications & Skills:Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience in a Children's statutory setting (please confirm PQE years on attached DfE cover sheet)
Proven experience supporting children with disabilities
Strong knowledge of CIN, CP, and LAC processes
Excellent assessment, planning, and review skills
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
Car driver with access to a vehicle
