The Role

As a Family Court Adviser, you will:

Manage a caseload of public and private law proceedings.Complete assessments and prepare high-quality reports for the Family Court.Work directly with children and families to understand their wishes and feelings.Attend court hearings and provide professional recommendations focused on the child's best interests.Liaise with local authorities, legal professionals and partner agencies.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

Previous Emergency Duty Team (EDT) experience is essential.Ability to work autonomously and confidently manage safeguarding situations out of hours.Experience making sound decisions independently, supported by an on-call management system.

The Emergency Duty Team provides a vital out-of-hours service across Coventry, supporting Children's Services, Adult Social Care, Housing, and Youth Justice Services. The team responds to urgent social care matters that cannot safely wait until the next working day, ensuring vulnerable children, adults, and families receive timely intervention and support.

This role involves responding to safeguarding concerns, assessing risk, coordinating emergency responses, and working closely with partner agencies. You will also oversee and support Children and Family Workers while ensuring effective decision-making throughout your shift.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced EDT Social Workers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are confident managing complex safeguarding situations independently.
