Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager for our Leaving Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a passionate team and make a significant impact on the lives of young people transitioning from care. The position offers a competitive rate of £45 per hour on an umbrella basis, providing the flexibility and support needed to excel in this vital role.
As the Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality services to young people aged 16-25 who are leaving care. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing a team of qualified social workers and support staff. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines. Developing and implementing individual care plans in collaboration with young people. Monitoring and evaluating team performance to drive continuous improvement. Building strong partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders to enhance service delivery.The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care. Essential qualifications and skills include:
A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience working within children's services, particularly in leaving care. Proven ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
