Join our dedicated team in Guildford as a Team Manager for the Family Safeguarding Team, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Family Safeguarding Team. Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading, supervising, and supporting a team of qualified social workers to deliver high-quality safeguarding services. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local policies, promoting best practices in child protection. Developing and implementing effective case management strategies to support families in crisis. Conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback to team members. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to enhance service delivery and outcomes for families.The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. A minimum of three years of post-qualifying experience in children's social work, with a focus on safeguarding. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Surrey County Council is seeking a skilled Adolescent Social Worker to join their dynamic team based in Guildford. The role focuses on engaging adolescents who are at risk of exploitation, missing from home, involved in offending, or presenting with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities Include:Holding and managing a complex caseload of adolescents aged 12-18
Working within Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), and Looked After Children (LAC) frameworks
Conducting section 17 and 47 assessments
Building relationships with young people to implement sustainable safety plans
Liaising with families and multi-agency professionals including CAMHS, Police, Education
Preparing reports for court and attending legal proceedings when required
Required Qualifications & Skills:Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Minimum 2-3 years post-qualified experience in Children's Social Care
Knowledge of adolescent risk, contextual safeguarding, and trauma-informed approaches
Strong assessment, communication, and intervention planning skills
Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle

Surrey County Council is seeking an experienced Assessment Social Worker to join their dynamic team based in Guildford. This role focuses on short-term interventions and assessments under Section 17 and Section 47, ensuring child safety and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities Include:Undertake high-quality s.17 and s.47 assessments
Safeguard children and identify risks through home visits and direct work
Work closely with families, schools, and other agencies
Prepare detailed reports and attend court as required
Make recommendations for step-down, escalation, or further intervention
Use Signs of Safety and trauma-informed practice throughout all casework
Required Qualifications & Skills:Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
Minimum of 2-3 years' post-qualified experience in an Assessment or Safeguarding team
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory guidance
Excellent communication, time management, and decision-making skills
