Job Summary:
The ASC Income and Recovery Officer is responsible for managing the income and debt recovery processes for Adult Social Care services. This role ensures that clients are billed accurately, payments are collected efficiently, and recovery actions are undertaken in line with statutory guidelines and council policies. The officer will liaise with service users, internal teams, and external agencies to resolve outstanding debts while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and monitor income related to Adult Social Care services, including assessing charges and generating invoices.
Manage and pursue outstanding debts, following agreed recovery procedures.
Liaise with service users, carers, and families regarding payments, debts, and financial assessments.
Work with internal teams such as Finance, Care Management, and Legal Services to resolve complex cases.
Maintain accurate records of income, payments, and recovery actions in relevant systems.
Prepare reports on income collection and recovery performance for management.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding requirements.
Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and service users on charging and payment processes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in income management and recovery processes.
Skills & Qualifications:
Knowledge of Adult Social Care charging and income processes is desirable.
Experience in debt recovery, billing, or financial administration.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
