This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IRO to join a busy children's services setting, chairing Looked After Children (LAC) reviews and ensuring that care planning is robust, timely and focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
You will play a key role in overseeing the quality of care plans, challenging drift and delay, and ensuring that children's voices are heard and acted upon. The role requires strong statutory knowledge, confidence in multi-agency working, and the ability to provide constructive challenge to improve practice standards.
Key Skills Required:
* Experience working as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO)
* Strong safeguarding and statutory review knowledge
* Experience chairing LAC reviews and contributing to care planning
* Ability to challenge drift, delay and poor practice effectively
* Strong communication, analytical and report writing skills
* Experience working within multi-agency Children's Services
* Social Work England registration required
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* Registered with Social Work England
* Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Services
* Previous experience in LAC, safeguarding or review roles
