We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team in Shropshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable young people. The position is available at a competitive rate of up to £38 per hour on an Umbrella basis. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for a range of key duties, including:

Managing a caseload of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, ensuring their welfare and safeguarding needs are met. Conducting assessments and developing tailored care plans to support the individual needs of each child. Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff members and social work students. Collaborating with external agencies, including health services, education providers, and legal representatives. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the strategic development of services for UASC.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in children's social work, particularly with unaccompanied minors. Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.

As a Senior Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with families, children, and professionals. Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to supporting the development of others.
