We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fostering Social Worker to join a dedicated fostering team within a progressive local authority in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting foster carers and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people in care. The service is committed to delivering high-quality support, stability, and permanence for children through effective fostering placements.

Senior Social Worker - MASH (Pilot Team)

Location: Landmark House, Ipswich, IP1 5PF
Rate: Up to £42 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week (potentially 30 hours across 4 days)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days remote)

Suffolk County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join an exciting new pilot team within MASH. This role offers a great opportunity to be part of an evolving service, with a strong focus on assessments and direct work with families, supporting early intervention and improved outcomes.

About the Role:
This pilot team will play a key role in developing the IFD Assessment Team, aligned with the Family First Partnership Programme. The aim is to provide timely support to families at the earliest opportunity, preventing unnecessary escalation into long-term social work teams.

Key responsibilities include:

Undertaking safeguarding screening, assessments, and direct visits with familiesGathering and analysing multi-agency information to inform decision-makingSupporting early intervention to reduce risk and improve outcomesWorking within a fast-paced MASH environmentContributing to the development and success of this new pilot team

Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registrationStrong experience within MASH / Front Door ServicesConfident in risk assessment, threshold decision-making, and safeguardingAbility to work both independently and within a developing team structure
