We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Social Worker to join our Fostering/CIC Team in Wigan. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and safeguarding children in care, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and support.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Assessing the needs of children in care and developing care plans Working collaboratively with foster carers, families, and other professionals to provide holistic support Conducting home visits and regular reviews to monitor the progress and well-being of children Participating in court proceedings and providing evidence as required Advocating for the best interests of children and promoting their rightsEssential qualifications and skills:

In this role, you will play a vital part in assessing and supporting kinship carers, ensuring the welfare and safety of children placed within family networks. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated social worker with relevant experience in kinship or fostering assessments to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete viability assessments, Regulation 24 assessments, and Form K assessments for prospective kinship carers.
* Provide supervision and support to approved kinship carers before cases are transferred to the Supervision and Support Team.
* Ensure all assessments and reports are completed in line with statutory guidance and local policies.
* Work closely with fostering and safeguarding teams to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
