Sutton Council is seeking a committed and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join their dynamic Mental Health Social Care Team. This is a full-time, duty-based role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting adults with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Duty Mental Health Social Worker, Monday to Friday.
Manage a complex caseload of adults with mental health needs.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health professionals, housing, and brokerage services.
Undertake Section 117 aftercare planning, attend ward rounds, and liaise with hospitals.
Prepare Court of Protection applications and participate in Mental Health Tribunals.
Conduct safeguarding enquiries and respond to urgent mental health crises.
Travel within and outside of the borough when necessary.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England (SWE) registration.
Significant experience in adult mental health social work.
Proven ability to manage complex caseloads under pressure.
Knowledge of mental health legislation, safeguarding procedures, and multi-agency working.
Must be a driver with access to own transport.
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
