Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Mental Health
Location: The Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU
Contract: Locum | Hybrid
Rate: £40 per hour
About the Role:
Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Reading Borough Council's Mental Health Social Care Team. This role involves delivering high-quality, strengths-based assessments, care planning, and interventions for adults with complex mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary partners, including NHS mental health services, to provide person-centred support that promotes recovery, independence, and safeguarding.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, undertake statutory duties under the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act, and provide supervision and guidance to less experienced staff where required. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory capacity is desirable.
Essential Requirements:
Registered with Social Work England (SWE) / HCPCSignificant post-qualified experience in adult mental healthStrong knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding frameworksExperience managing complex safeguarding cases, Section 117 aftercare, and community DoLSExcellent risk assessment, decision-making, and communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentBenefits of working with Eden Brown Synergy:
