Charnwood Borough Council is currently recruiting for an experienced Council Tax Officer to join the Billing and Recovery team. This is a fully remote role offering flexibility and the opportunity to support essential public services from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately determine council tax liability, including the assessment and application of discounts, exemptions, and reliefs.

Manage the billing and collection of council tax in accordance with legislation and best practice.

Negotiate and monitor effective payment arrangements to maximise council tax collection rates.

Deliver a responsive and inclusive service to all customers, ensuring fairness and compliance with equalities legislation.

Requirements:
Previous experience in council tax billing and recovery is essential.

Strong knowledge of council tax legislation, systems, and processes.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work independently and manage a remote workload effectively.
