Sefton Metropolitan Brough Council is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to support their Court Advisory Team.
Location: Trinity Road, Bootle
Pay Rate: £40.00 per hour (Umbrella )
Note: Hybrid opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Team Manager in the operational management of the Court Advisory Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred services.Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and professional challenge to Social Workers and support staff.Oversee and monitor complex pre-proceedings and care proceedings cases, ensuring timely progression and effective case management.Ensure assessments, care plans, court statements, and other legal documentation are completed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.Provide expert advice and support to practitioners on legal processes, court requirements, risk assessment, and permanency planning.Chair professional meetings, case discussions, and legal planning meetings as required.Support the allocation and management of caseloads to ensure workloads are balanced and children receive timely interventions.Monitor performance, quality assurance activity, and audit outcomes to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.Promote high-quality social work practice, ensuring the voice of the child remains central to assessment, planning, and decision-making.Work collaboratively with legal services, Cafcass, partner agencies, and internal teams to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.Support staff development through supervision, mentoring, coaching, and reflective practice.Assist the Team Manager in managing performance, attendance, and professional standards within the team.Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and the embedding of best practice across Children's Social Care.
Essential Requirements:
