Join our dedicated Family Safeguarding Team in Wigan as a Children’s Social Worker! We are committed to promoting the welfare of children and ensuring their safety in a supportive and nurturing environment. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and partner agencies to assess needs, develop plans, and implement interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs. Developing and implementing child protection plans in partnership with families. Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with local policies and procedures. Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive support for families. Providing advice, support, and guidance to families to empower them in making positive changes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience working in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection.

Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Wigan Councils Kinship Assessment Team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in assessing and supporting kinship carers, ensuring the welfare and safety of children placed within family networks. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated social worker with relevant experience in kinship or fostering assessments to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:
* Complete viability assessments, Regulation 24 assessments, and Form K assessments for prospective kinship carers.
* Provide supervision and support to approved kinship carers before cases are transferred to the Supervision and Support Team.
* Ensure all assessments and reports are completed in line with statutory guidance and local policies.
* Work closely with fostering and safeguarding teams to ensure the best outcomes for children.



Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
