Blackburn with Darwen Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join the Children's Disability Service. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated and supportive team making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with complex needs.
Based at Duke Street, with hybrid working available, you will work alongside experienced Social Workers and Child Support Officers to support children and young people with severe and profound disabilities, as well as their siblings.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a caseload across the continuum of Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC)Working on cases involving care proceedings and Court of ProtectionUndertaking assessments, planning, and direct work with children and familiesLiaising with multi-agency partners to ensure effective support and safeguardingEnsuring timely and appropriate interventions to improve outcomes for children with disabilities
Essential Requirements:
Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalentAt least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's servicesSocial Work England RegistrationDriving license and access to own vehicle
