Stoke on Trent City Council is currently seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join their Support and Safeguarding Team .

Location: Civic Centre
Pay Rate: £41.42 per hour (Umbrella)

Notes :- this will be a hybrid opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the Safeguarding Team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services for children and families.Lead, support, and develop Team Managers and social work staff, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Oversee complex safeguarding and child protection cases, ensuring robust decision-making and effective risk management.Ensure statutory responsibilities, safeguarding legislation, and local authority procedures are consistently met.Drive service performance by monitoring quality, compliance, and key performance indicators, implementing improvements where required.Promote high-quality practice through quality assurance, audits, and the development of best practice standards.Build and maintain strong multi-agency partnerships to deliver coordinated safeguarding responses and improve outcomes for children.Provide leadership on complex strategy discussions, escalation processes, and service development initiatives.Support workforce development through coaching, mentoring, and the professional development of managers and practitioners.Champion a child-centred, strengths-based, and inclusive approach, ensuring children's voices and best interests are central to all service delivery.

Essential Requirements:

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalentAt least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's servicesSocial Work England RegistrationDriving license and access to own vehicle
