Job Advert - Assistant Team Manager
Location: Sutton
Team: Mental Health Social Care Team
Pay Rate: £39 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary

Sutton Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Team Manager (ATM) to join their Mental Health Social Care Team.

As ATM, you will work closely with the Team Manager and existing ATMs to support the daily operations of the team, oversee staff supervision, allocate workloads, and ensure high-quality service delivery. You will also provide cover as Duty Manager and Safeguarding Manager on a rota basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape service delivery using a strength-based approach, focusing on delivering positive outcomes for adults with mental health needs. You'll also contribute to ensuring commissioned services are cost-effective and participate in service improvement initiatives alongside service users and carers.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support team members

Oversee caseload allocation and day-to-day team operations

Act as Duty Manager and Safeguarding Manager as required

Support the delivery of Care Act and Mental Health Act responsibilities

Contribute to service development and quality assurance

Requirements:

Social Work qualification & SWE registration

Strong understanding of the Care Act and Mental Health Act

Experience in staff supervision and managing safeguarding enquiries

Ability to work collaboratively and think strategically
